I know I say this every couple of months but I might actually have some time now! Well, now as in the end of August.

I've created a few different designs and right as I'm getting into it, life becomes incredibly demanding.

I finish my contract on August 26, so work on the site is definitely going to happen, it's just a matter of time.

Looking at the last post date, it's easy to see that there has been no activity on here for quite some time; unfortunately this was unavoidable due to excessive amounts of overtime required from me.

Site construction is again underway, with a preview coming in the next few weeks.

Time has been in short supply over the last couple of weeks, however work resumes tonight; a little Dio and some A&W Root Beer should do the trick!

On a side note, I will be heading to Jasper, Alberta in the next month or so, so expect to see some pictures at some point!

I did some testing this weekend and I've decided that the new site will use Wordpress instead of Drupal. I wish I had some long and insightful reason as to why I came to this decision, but frankly I prefer the admin interface for Wordpress over that of Drupal (even though I am running a decent admin theme on this install).

For those who might be interested, I will be including Wordpress theming to the list of topics I will cover in the informational sessions I plan to hold in the next year or so.

Just a quick update on what has been completed so far and what remains to be completed in Phase 1 (completed items are green):

• Preliminary Sketch
• Large Page Background
• Decide on Fonts
• Decide on Colour Scheme
• Create Position Placeholders
• Design Content Layout
• Design Carousel
• Add Fine Details

As of about noon today, I have the preliminary sketch for the layout of http://www.kristremblay.com as well a rough diagram of the navigation system.

This evening, I will be starting on the first Photoshop mock up of the site. This mock up will consist mainly of the most basic layout elements such as position placeholders.

Also, I am debating on whether or not to use Drupal for the final site. If anyone has input on this please feel free to share :)

It has been a crazy few months! Thanks to work and Christmas vacation (not the movie), development has been stalled until now. As of today, development of KrisTremblay.com will commence.

This domain is intended to act as a means of accessing my professional resumé, a resource for reviews and information pertaining to web design and development, a medium for discussion of the aforementioned, and last but not least, the primary source for modules for the instructional sessions I will be holding beginning in 2010-2011.

As some already know, due to a security issue at my previous host I am in the process of rebuilding the site. As for the theme (if you didn't read the footer) I did not design this, it just happened to be the nicest theme on the first 3 pages of the Drupal themes page :)
